Carmen
"Max" Maxwell Biography
Carmen Maxwell was
a former Disney animator who helped originate the Warner Bros. cartoon
studio with Hugh Harman and Rudolf Ising. For a time in the 1920s when
Disney was bankrupt, he teamed with Harman & Ising on a proposed "Arabian
Nights" series of cartoons, though they were never sold. He was the
performer of the voice of Bosko in the Looney Tunes series. He was also
one of the few animators who went with Harman and Ising when they left
WB for MGM. When MGM fired Harman and Ising for a time in the late 1930s,
Maxwell became the new production manager. [WIW and HC]
