Robert
McKimson Biography
Born: 1910
Died: September 27, 1977 (coronary)
Robert McKimson started
out in the Harman & Ising studio as an animator. He stayed at WB after
Harman & Ising left, and perfected his animation skills in Bob Clampett's
unit in the 1940s. It was Robert McKimson who drew the model sheet that
standardized the look of Bugs Bunny. He was promoted to director in the
mid 1940s, and was the principal director of the Foghorn Leghorn, Hippety
Hopper, and the later Speedy Gonzales cartoons. He stayed at WB until
the studio's closure, then joined with DePatie-Freleng to direct Pink
Panther cartoons. [TAF! and OM&M]
